Migration
You may have noticed the new look. Yes, that’s by design. Startup Flyby has migrated from Revue to Substack.
When creating a new product, there will always need to be a balance between product and marketing, but the best way to grow something organically is to create a stellar product.
This means you’ll be spending less time on marketing, so it helps to have your product live where it’s easier to find. For example, the App Store has better discoverability than the World Wide Web.
Similarly, Substack now has discovery, recommendation, and community features, making it easier for publications to be found.
Startups need to be able to adapt. The more you allow your decisions to be impermanent, the easier it will be for you to evolve.
This approach lets you get started without overthinking things. If you need to make changes or update your technology in order to grow, that’s fine.
It’s better to start small and get moving instead of planning things for too long and getting nowhere.
Pick the right direction, start executing and adjust course along the way.
Every small step moves you closer.
To infinity and beyond.
